What barcode formats can this scanner read?
It reads QR codes and common barcodes, including EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, ITF, Codabar, Data Matrix, PDF417 and Aztec. The scanner uses your browser's built-in detector when available and a WebAssembly decoder otherwise.
Do I need Chrome to scan a barcode?
No. Modern browsers use a built-in detector when they have one and a WebAssembly decoder otherwise, so the scanner works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari.
Can it read several barcodes at once?
Yes. Drop multiple images or one image that contains several codes; every valid code is listed with its format and has its own Copy button.
Does the scanner upload my image?
No. Decoding runs entirely on your device in the browser, so your images are never uploaded or stored anywhere.
Can I scan a barcode with my phone camera?
Yes. Click Start Camera and point your phone at a barcode or QR code. On browsers with a native barcode detector the value appears automatically; elsewhere, tap Snap & Scan to read the current frame. Camera access needs HTTPS and your permission.
How do I scan a barcode from a screenshot or PDF?
Save or screenshot the page that shows the barcode, then drop the image here or paste it with Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on Mac). Several screenshots can be scanned in one go, and PDF pages work once saved or converted to an image.

Tips and Limits
Works best on sharp, straight-on photos with the full code visible and good contrast; very small or damaged 1D barcodes may need a closer shot, and up to 8 codes are listed per image. In browsers without native barcode support a WebAssembly decoder is downloaded on first scan. Camera scanning needs HTTPS and camera permission, and every scan happens on your device.
