FAQs
What counts as a word?
Any group of characters separated by spaces, tabs or line breaks counts as one word, the same way the Word Counter tool defines words.
What does the ignore common words option do?
It filters out a short list of common English words such as the, and, of and to, so you can focus on the words that carry meaning.
Is the count case-sensitive?
By default no, so Word and word count together. Tick the case-sensitive option to count them separately.
Does my text leave my device?
No. All counting happens in your browser, so your text is never uploaded or stored anywhere.
