FAQs
How do I find X percent of a number?
Multiply the number by the percentage and divide by 100. For example, 15% of 200 is 200 x 15 / 100 = 30.
How do I find what percent one number is of another?
Divide the first number by the second and multiply by 100. For example, 50 is 25% of 200.
How is percentage change calculated?
Subtract the starting value from the new value, divide by the starting value, then multiply by 100. A positive result is an increase and a negative result is a decrease.
What happens if I divide by zero?
The calculator shows an error and asks you to enter a non-zero value, because dividing by zero is undefined.
