FAQs
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. All resizing happens in your browser using the Canvas API, so your images are never uploaded or stored anywhere.
How do I resize by a percentage?
Use the Scale slider: 100% keeps the original size, values below 100% shrink the image and values above 100% enlarge it, up to 300%.
What does Maintain aspect ratio do?
When enabled, entering a width automatically computes the matching height and vice versa, so the image is never stretched or squashed.
Is the tool free to use?
Yes. Every Handio tool is free, with no sign-up, no limits and no watermarks.

Why use Image Resizer?
Use the Resizer when you need an image at a precise pixel size, because most platforms simply will not accept a wrong dimension — and none of them need a 6000px wide source file.
- Scale product photos down to 1200px wide so an online store accepts them and serves them quickly.
- Set a photo to 1920px wide for a website hero section that has to match the layout exactly.
- Resize a landscape shot to a square social profile picture without dragging it into an editor.
Tips and Limits
Enlarging beyond the original pixel size cannot create new detail — a 500px image scaled to 300% just becomes softer, so downscale whenever you can. Leaving width or height empty keeps the aspect ratio automatically. Process multiple files at once — all in your browser.
